Lolab (Kupwara): Youth welfare Association Diver Lolab on Monday organized a daylong drug de-addiction awareness programme in Diver Lolab
The programme was led by Chairman Youth Welfare Association Diver Lolab along with members of association in august presence of DySP Lolab Javid Ahmad, Lt. Colonel 28 RR Madhav, Tehsildar Lolab Saqib Murtaza, Headmaster Government High School Diver Manzoor Ahmad Mir, BDO Sogam Abdul Rasheed, Medical officer Tekipora Dr Mohammad Ashraf, President Markazi Auqaf Islamia Lalpora Mahmood ul Hassan, among other officials. The programme was also participated by civil society members, education department including students from local schools and seminaries, besides by mediapersons.
The event underscored the collective commitment of the community to fight against the menace of drug abuse in the community.
The participants pledged to put up a collective fight against the growing drug abuse to ensure a drug-free society for the larger interest of the public especially for the youth.
Speaking on the occasion, DySP Lolab Javid Ahmad emphasized the grave impact of drug abuse on youth and society and urged all and everyone to come together to put their hand in combating the menace and protect the future generations.
He requested the parents, teachers and community members to remain vigilant and supportive, guiding the youth towards a healthy and positive lifestyle.
He further appealed to the public to remain proactive and report any incidents related to drug trafficking or abuse to the police.
Students from various schools performed on the ocassion, and were felicitated by Lt. Colonel 28 RR Madhav.
The programme organisers thanked all the guests for attendig the event and making their presence felt for a noble cause.
