Yasir Reshi Deserts Another Party to Seek Political Fortunes, Now Joins PDP After Leaving AIP

Srinagar: In a frantic bid to build political fortune, senior politician and former MLC Yasir Reshi, on Sunday joined Peoples’ Democratic Party. Reshi, alongside another politician Peer Mansoor, extended their allegiance to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti at party headquarters here.

Reshi’s joining Peoples Democratic Party, comes after his drubbing in recently held Assembly elections on Sonawari seat, at the hands of JKNC leader Adv Hilal Akbar Lone. Reshi had contested the elections on Awami Ittihad Party ticket, after leaving Sajad Gani Lone led Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Conference.

The fresh joining us seen as a frantic bid by the politician to rebuild his otherwise dwindling political career, despite having been a Member of Legislative Council.

Peer Mansoor, who had a close acquaintance with PDP founder Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and incumbent President Mehbooba Mufti alike, also made a comeback to parent party after severing ties for a considerable period of time.

The new joinings are anticipated to boost the morale of PDP, which managed to secure only three seats in Assembly elections.
