Utilise Funds Properly To Beautify Handwara Town, Urges JKNC’s Rasikh Rasool Bhat

Terms Construction of GMC Handwara On ‘Flood Channel’ Serious Administrative Lapse, Misuse of Funds

Srinagar: The National Conference Youth wing Senior Vice President for North Zone, Rasikh Rasool Bhat, has expressed his displeasure over the unsatisfactory execution of work in Handwara Town beautification programme. Bhat urged the administration to make every component of utilization of funds in public domain in terms of Section 4 of RTI Act 2005.

In a press statement Bhat said that the general public has expressed dismay over utilisation of funds in the beautification programme of Handwara town programme as the departments concerned are installing sub-standard street lights, which is a serious concern and big setback to the concept of Good Governance.

He said there is clear misconduct from the part of administration to go ahead with execution work on GMC Handwara on a ‘vital flood channel’ in the area.

“Hope that public servants of all the sectors will fully cooperate with incumbent Chief Minister Omar Abdullah led government’s pursuit for a transparent and accountable and people friendly governance,” Bhat said.

The youth leader also said that public Authorities need to fully adhere to the Public Service Guarantee act to deliver their services in a time bound manner.
