Srinagar: A 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook parts of Kashmir valley, especially in north Kashmir, on intervening Tuesday and Wednesday night.

The quake which struck at around 1:51 am (IST), with epicentre near Gulmarg in Baramulla, lasted for a few seconds, plunging the local populace in hysteria.

No adverse report has however been received from anywhere.

Pertinent to mention here that the parts of there has been frequent seismic events in the Baramulla district in north Kashmir over the last several weeks. No expert has however commented, so far, as to how and why there has been recurrence of such events over the period of time.
