Toddler Run Over by Vehicle in Lolab Kupwara

Srinagar: An 18-month-old girl died after being run over by a fast moving vehicle in Wani Dorusa area in Lolab Kupwara on Thursday.

An official told Alfaaz – The Words, that one Iritiza Bashir, daughter of Bashir Ahmad Chichi, was hit and run over by a fast moving vehicle outside her home in Wani Dorusa.

The toddler, the official said, was soon after evacuated from the site and taken to SDH Sogam, from where he was referred to GMC Handwara. “She however died of grievous injuries, soon after admission at the hospital,” said the official.

Confirming it, a police official said that they have taken cognisance into the incident and efforts are being made to apprehend the accused driver.
