Srinagar: In an appalling incident of its type, a stray dog mauled to death a 70-year- old man and left four others injured in Manchowa area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam on Sunday.
News agency GNS quoted officials as saying that a dog attacked a group of people at around 6 am as they were heading towards their field. Five persons were injured and one of them identified as Khazir Mohammad Magrey, 70 succumbed to his injuries.
Four other persons are admitted in the local, they added.
Anguished over the tragic incident, the locals demanded an immediate attention from the authorities for action against stray dog menace in the area. Today’s incident should serve as eye opener for authorities to act, otherwise, they said, more such incidents may happen in future.
