Stone Quarry Caves In, Leaves One Dead, Another Injured in North Kashmir

Srinagar: A man was killed and an another person injured after coming under falling debris from a caved in stone quarry at Drugmulla village in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

As learnt by Alfaaz – The Words, two persons were left trapped while they came under debris during routine activity at Chunni Kunnie Najar Mohalla in Drugmulla Kupwara.

As the word spread, people from the area with limited means started a rescue operation, during which the two individuals identified as Habibullah Malik and Imtiyaz Ahmad Pir, were rescued.

The duo was soon after taken to a nearby hospital, where one Habibullah Malik was declared as brought dead. The injured person is undergoing treatment.

Confirming the incident, a police official told Alfaaz – The Words, that they have taken cognisance of the matter for further investigations.
