Srinagar: In a significant yet concerning weather development, Srinagar today recorded its all-time highest minimum night temperature for the month of July, with the mercury hovering not below 25.2°C. This equals the previous record set on July 21, 1988, but marks the first time in nearly four decades that such high overnight temperatures have been registered in the city.

The second-highest minimum temperature, as per statistics shared by independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif, stands at 24.8°C, recorded just last year on July 29, 2024, highlighting a concerning trend of increasingly warmer nights in recent years.

As per the forecaster, according to Alfaaz – The Words, 2022, 2024, and now 2025 rank among the warmest Julys’ on record, underscoring the growing impact of changing climate patterns on the Kashmir Valley.
