Srinagar: A Srinagar-bound flight on Wednesday evening witnessed a turbulence due to bad weather conditions, forcing the pilot to report an emergency to Air Traffic Control Srinagar, officials said.
The officials as per Alfaaz – The Words, said that an ‘Indigo’ flight (6E2142), enroute Delhi to Srinagar experienced bad weather (hailstorm), forcing the pilot to report an emergency to Air Traffic Control Srinagar.
“The flight however landed safely at Srinagar airport at around 1830 hrs,” said the official, adding, “all aircrew and passengers (227) are safe and flight is declared AOG (Aircraft on Ground) by the respective airline.”
Notably, several passengers on board the airline have taken to social media sites to share their experience. While some have hailed the pilot for his presence of mind and acumen to ensure safe landing of flight, others have just narrated the frightening experience during the brief encounter with weather vagary.
