Social & Political Activist Condemns Over ‘Sixty-thousand Fine’ on Kashmiri Trucker in Delhi, Seeks Intervention from Delhi Government, J&K LG

Srinagar: Social and Political activist Adv Ovais Mushtaq Khan, has on Sunday vehemently condemned reported fine in tune of sixty thousand rupees against a Kashmir-based truck driver in Delhi.

Khan in a statement issued here said that ‘the fine imposed on the trucker lacked any merit.’

“The fine was charged without any proper and valid reason, and this highlights the mistreatment of Kashmiris and Kashmiri truck drivers often face outside Kashmir.”

Khan while expressing a strong disapproval to such excessive fines, which according to him, only go on to burden hardworking drivers.

Khan urged the Delhi government and LG Manoj Sinha to take immediate action ‘to prevent such unfair practices and ensure the fair treatment of all truck drivers, especially those from Kashmir.’

He in his statement issued to Alfaaz – The Words, further emphasized the need for respect and dignity for truck drivers, urging authorities “to review their practices and put an end to the harassment.”

It is worth to mention here that the statement comes in the backdrop reported fine in tune of sixty thousand rupees against a Kashmiri truck driver after he allegedly entered a no entry area and also ‘misbehaved’ with a policeman.
