Showket Hassan Pandit Urges Govt to Assess Hailstorm Damage, Seeks Compensation for Affected Farmers

Langate: AIP leader Showket Hassan Pandit on Saturday appealed to the government to immediately assess the damage caused by the recent heavy hailstorm in Langate and its adjoining areas.

In a statement issued to Alfaaz – The Words, Pandit expressed concern over the repeated losses suffered by farmers due to hailstorms and other adverse weather conditions in recent years. He said that the farming community is under severe financial stress and needs urgent government attention.

Pandit demanded that the government announce compensation for the affected farmers on the pattern of relief provided in other states. He also stressed that the government must waive off Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans, as farmers are unable to repay their debts following continuous crop damage.

He urged the administration to take swift steps to support the farmers and help them overcome the crisis.
