Kupwara, Sep 29: Lolab based Literary Body “Shehjaar-e-Adab Lolab” in coordination with ‘Promote Kashmir’ Friday organized a poetic symposium (Mehfil-e-Mushaira) at Kariwan Diver Lolab.
The Poetic Symposium began with the verses of ‘The Holy Quran’ followed by a Naat-e-Shareef.
The Poetic Symposium (Mehfil-e-Mushaira) presided over by President Shehjaar-e-Adab Lolab Rashid Manzoor was graced by Abdul Ahad Hami as Chief Guest while Mohammad Sultan Shooq attended the occasion as ‘Guest Of Honour’.
The other literary body office bearers also attended the venue despite the ongoing harvesting season.
The poetic symposium witnessed presentations from about 17 poets, who on the eve read out their Kala’ams and to the much delight of the audiences. The poets who participated in several hour long programme included; Rashid Manzoor, Maqbool Nadeem, Bashir Shahid, Bhat Khursheed, Mohammad Sultan Shooq, Abdul Ahad Hami, Gh Hussain, Syed Wasil, Zahida Zareen, Aadil Sogami, Niyaaz Janisar, Shaheen Aayesha, Gousiya Mehnoor, Rahi Hassan, Tahir Bashir, Fazil Bashir and Ashraf Aadil.
During the proceedings, the poets enthused the audience to their fill.
President Shehjaar-e-Adab Lolab Raashid Manzoor extended vote of thanks to every participant for making the event successful.
The formalities of dice in charge were performed by Ashraf Adil – who currently is General Secretary of the literary body Shehjaar-e-Adab Lolab.
