Shehbaz Sharif Elected As New Prime Minister Pakistan

Islamabad [Pakistan]: PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has been elected the 24th prime minister of Pakistan after clinching 201 votes, National Assembly Speaker Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq announced.

Omer Ayub Khan, the PTI’s candidate for the premier, secured 92 votes.

Sadiq then called Shehbaz to the seat of the Leader of the House.

The newly elected prime minister is expected to address the house shortly.

Following the announcement, Shehbaz hugged elder brother Nawaz.
