Senior Politician Abdul Rahim Wani Gets Apni Party’s Mandate from Lolab Constituency

Kupwara: Senior political leader Abdul Rahim Wani on Thursday received mandate from Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party on Lolab constituency.

Wani is among a total of twenty four candidates whose name received a nod from Apni Party’s Parliamentary Affairs Committee Chairman Mohammad Dilawar Mir.

Wani, who started his political career way back in 1987, went on to contest his first election in 1996 on Janata Dal ticket. Up against Late Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Wani stood second in the contest losing by a narrow margin.

The senior politician from Lolab is known for his close association with former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Meanwhile, the native area of Wani has burst into celebrations after the very own political leader getting another shy to make it count to represent his people.
