Srinagar: Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and party’s Lok Sabha face from Baramulla Mir Fayaz on Wednesday strongly contested rumours of party colleague Irfan Mohuiddin Sofi’s expulsion from Mehbooba Mufti led party.

In a brief chat with Alfaaz – The Words, the senior politician said he was taken aback by the flurry of rumours going around about Sofi’s expulsion from the party. “No such thing has even remotely came before the party or even to me personally,” Mir said, adding, “Romours, which these people call reports, are an age old tactics by the rivals to confuse and demoralise the people.”

“I hereby reiterate that these rumours have nothing substance as we revere Mr. Irfan as a party staunch, who has a great sway on the public which we expect will come handy to us in upcoming polls,” Mir said.

Notably, the senior leader Mir Fayaz alongside several leaders and senior workers visited Sofi Irfan’s residence to assure him of full party support and asked him not to lose heart by the rumours going around.
