Srinagar: A self-styled godman has allegedly axed an elderly woman to death in Chogal area Handwara on Friday afternoon.
As learnt by Alfaaz – The Words, a woman who had gone to visit the self-styled godman, Ghulam Rasool, aka ‘Las Babb’, was allegedly hit by the latter several times on her head.
The woman identified as one Atiqa Begum (60), wife of Late Abdul Rehman Lone, was evacuated to GMC Handwara for immediate treatment, from where she was referred to SKIMS Soura Srinagar – however she succumbed on way to the hospital.
A police official told Alfaaz – The Words, that the self-styled godman has been arrested and is currently in police custody in nearest police station.
