Safeena Baig’s Resignation As J&K Haj Committee C’person Gets Government Approval

Srinagar: Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday accepted the resignation of Safeena Baig as Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Haj Committee.

“In terms of section of 24 of Haj Committee Act, 2002, the resignation of Ms. Safeena Baig as Chairperson, the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Haj Committee is hereby accepted w.e.f. 24.08.2024,” reads a government order.

Safeena, wife of Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, had tendered her resignation from the post and was awaiting response from the Jammu and Kashmir Government.

Notably, the government on Friday announced MP on Rajouri-Anantnag seat Mian Altaf Ahmad as member of Jammu and Kashmir Hajj Committee.
