Renowned Gynaecologist Prof Farhat Hameed Passes Away

Srinagar: Dr (Prof) Farhat Hameed, a distinguished gynaecologist and obstetrician of Jammu and Kashmir, passed away on Saturday, leaving a significant void in the region’s medical fraternity.

Prof Hameed served as a respected mentor, professor, and trainer at Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar, and was widely admired for her expertise, dedication, and compassionate care. Throughout her career, she made a lasting impact on patients and colleagues alike.

Even after retiring from GMC Srinagar, she continued her medical practice at her clinic in Barbar Shah, Srinagar, providing specialised women’s healthcare and earning recognition for her attentive and humane approach.
