R&B Department Handwara Aleged of Using Substandard Material for Macadamisation of Road in Langate Village

Handwara: Residents of Langate have alleged Roads and Buildings Department of using substandard material for macadamisation of a local road in the area.

A delegation of Guloora village in Langate after initiation of macadamisation process after a long wait and persuasion, the department concerned to the utter disgust of local populace, was found using substandard material on the particular road in the area.

A local Javid Ahmad said that the issue was brought to the notice of JE concerned, but the said official did nothing to check the issue.

Another resident said that they have brought the issue to the notice of officials on multiple occasions, but each time their plea turned to deaf ears.

Now that the people have raised their concern, the authorities have stopped any further work on the road. “The officials concerned should look into the matter and see what time of material has been used over the time,” the delegation members said.

Meanwhile, despite repeated attempts, the Executive Engineer could not be made available for his comments regarding the matter.
