Kupwara: District Police Kupwara organized Rashtriya Ekta Divas Parade on Tuesday at the DPL Parade Ground in observance of National Unity Day, which is celebrated annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of India’s unity.
The event began with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Martyrs Memorial by Ghulam Jeelani Wani-JKPS, SSP Kupwara in honour of those who have sacrificed their lives in service to the nation.
Following the wreath-laying, SSP Kupwara took the salute from the marching contingents, showcasing discipline and patriotism. Afterward, he addressed the gathering, speaking on the significance of Rashtriya Ekta Divas and its role in promoting national unity and integrity. He then read the Unity Pledge to the parade and audience present, reinforcing the values of peace, harmony, and collective responsibility.
The parade featured contingents from District Police, IRP 4th Battalion, and CRPF, along with the District Police Band. The contingents performed an impressive March Past, as they honoured the spirit of unity and national strength.
The parade was attended by prominent by Rouf Rehman Bhat, ADC Kupwara, Gh Mohd Bhat-JKPS, Addl SP Kupwara, Peer Mumtaz ACR Kupwara, Syed Mujahid-Ul-Haq-JKPS, DySP DAR Kupwara, alongside other officers from the District Police.
The event concluded with a display of national pride and unity, celebrating the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the importance of national integration, especially in times of challenge and change. (via. Jahangir Lolabi)
