Srinagar: In a fierce start against a star-studded Mumbai line up, Jammu and Kashmir bowlers ripped through the batters taking the first three wickets within mere twenty runs.
Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane won the coin toss and opted to bat first against Jammu and Kashmir.
Among the top players who have made a name for themselves in the Cricket world, featuring in Mumbai XI include incumbent Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal besides Rahane, Shardul Thakur and Shivam Dube.
Rohit Sharma’s disastrous form continued as he was dismissed for just 3. Rohit, who played his first Ranji match since 2015, looked quite uncomfortable against the bouncers from the Jammu and Kashmir bowlers. Rohit scored just 3 runs off 19 deliveries before he was dismissed by fast bowler Umar Nazir Mir.
On the other hand Yashaswi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill too looked quite uncomfortable, ultimately making them to concede for four runs each.
All in all it has been a dreamy start for Jammu and Kashmir and the team will look to cash on the momentum unless some Mumbai batter solidifies the innings from hereon.
