Property of Notorious Drug Peddler Attached Under NDPS Act in Kupwara

Kupwara: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara Thursday attached property of a notorious drug peddler under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

“In an action against drug trafficking, Kupwara Police have attached 16.5 marlas of land under Khasra No. 732, belonging to Manzoor Ahmad Mir, son of Ab Jabbar Mir,” said a police spokesperson.

This action, the spokesperson said, was taken under Section 68(E) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS). “The property, located in Khumriyal, Kupwara, was identified as illegally acquired during the investigation of Case FIR No. 245/23, registered under the NDPS Act at Police Station Kupwara.”

“The accused, Manzoor Ahmad Mir, has also been taken into preventive custody earlier under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT-NDPS),” said the spokesperson.

“Kupwara Police urges all residents to assist in the fight against drug peddling by providing any relevant information,” the spokesperson said, adding, “Community cooperation is essential to combat this menace. Individuals found engaging in drug peddling will face strict legal consequences.”
