Kupwara: In an effort to facilitate the students and the people avid of reading and research with different kinds of reading material, Principal Secretary Culture Suresh Kumar Gupta Thursday inaugurated ‘Border Block Library’ at Sogam Kupwara.

The visiting dignitary inaugurated the library in presence of Director Libraries Mohammad Rafi, ADC Kupwara Mohammad Rouf-ur-Rehman, ADC Handwara Aziz Ahmad, DFO Kamraj Division Anurag Arya, SDM Lolab Javid Naseem, Tehsildar Sogam/Lalpora Saqib Murtaza, Naib-tehsildar Sogam Mushtaq Ahmad, DDC Sogam Nasir Nazir Lone, DySP Sogam Rayees Mir, SHO Sogam and a large number of students and locals.

DDC Sogam Nasir Nazir on the occasion thanked the Principal Secretary Culture Suresh Kumar Gupta for inaugurating the library, which the PRI member said will facilitate scores of students and all those interested in reading diverse kinds of material.

The PRI member on the occasion highlighted various imminent issues related to the newly-inaugurated library and sought intervention from the authorities concerned to resolve the issues at an earliest.  

Principal Secretary Culture Suresh Kumar Gupta in his brief address emphasised upon the people, especially students, to take full benefit of the library.

“This is a great chance for you all to remain abreast with all the reading material you might be requiring in any way, so don’t let this opportunity go waste,” Gupta said as per Alfaaz – The Words, adding, “I hereupon appreciate the DDC Sogam Nasir Nazir Lone for his efforts in realisation of the initiative.”

Regarding the issues highlighted on the issue, Gupta said that all demands will be met in a time-bound manner and everything possible will be done to see full-fledged functioning of the library.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rouf Rahman paid a vote of thanks to the visiting dignitaries, especially Principal Secretary Culture Suresh Kumar Gupta, for gracing the occasion with their august presence.
