President Sopore Fruit Mandi Association ‘Kaka Ji’ Visits Handwara To Meet Fruit Growers

Says Every Possible Initiative Being Taken To Safeguard Interests of Farmers

Handwara: President Sopore Fruit Mandi Association ‘Kaka Ji’ on Wednesday visited to meet fruit growers in Handwara. He on the occasion met and interacted with fruit growers during which he was appraised by the stakeholders about various imminent issues and demands.

The fruit growers in Handwara were represented by President Fruit Mandi Handwara Mohammad Amin Wani. The Fruit Mandi Association Handwara sought the personal intervention of ‘Kaka Ji’ regarding the smooth passage of fruit trucks, stopped at various locations, thereby causing damage to the fruits.

The Association also demanded establishment of a cold storage, crop insurance among other demands of vital significance.

Reiterating that farmers’ welfare was among the top priorities of the Association, Kaka Ji said that every possible initiative is being taken to safeguard the interests of farmers.

He assured that all the genuine demands would be taken up for an early redressal, adding that a proper mechanism would be formulated wherein effective grading and packaging system of fruits shall be introduced in order to control erratic price fluctuation of horticultural produce.

He also said that all other demands put forth by the association will be discussed with the higher ups to seek an early resolution.
