Srinagar: After suffering a rout in recent assembly elections, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Democratic Party has dissolved all its district and zonal committees besides spokesperson and media cell panels.
The decision comes a day after the top party leadership held a review meeting, first of its type post assembly elections, under the auspices of incumbent Chairperson Mehbooba Mufti.
The party will be framing new bodies after consultation and consensus with top leadership.
In 2014 assembly elections, PDP had bagged 28 seats and emerged as the single largest party. However, in 2024 the number came down to only three, which was the second setback for the party after its defeat in Lok Sabha polls.
