Srinagar: Nodal Officer, Model Code of Conduct, Additional District Magistrate, Kupwara on Friday asked Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Handwara to facilitate release of a vehicle seized in connection with alleged violation of Model Code of Conduct.
In a communique to ARO Handwara, the Nodal Officer, MCC, Kupwara has requested the former to direct the FST (Flying-squad-team) concerned to get the vehicle bearing number JK09 5257, currently kept in custody of SHO Villgam for alleged violation of MCC, released.
The Nodal Officer has maintained that the release of the vehicle is being sought as follow-up of an inquiry done by the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Division Handwara and Technical Officer Jal Shakti (PHE) Division Handwara.
The inquiry, as per the Nodal Officer, has reported that the flag was mounted on the said vehicle by some miscreants and the material (GI Pipes) confiscated belongs to Jal Shakti (PHE) Division Handwara.
Notably, the vehicle was seized after it was intercepted mounted with the flag of a political party at Kukroosa village.
