Police Arrests Several Social-media Users Over ‘Posting of Sensitive Content’ Against Particular Community

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police Thursday said to have taken cognizance and subsequent arrest of several social-media users for ‘posting of sensitive content’ against a particular community in central Kashmir’s Srinagar.

“Police has taken cognizance of the incident of posting of sensitive content against religious sentiments of a particular community by some individuals on SM platform,” reads a post by Srinagar Police microblogging site ‘X’.

“FIR No. 29/2024 u/s 299, 196 BNS has been registered in PS Shaheedganj & the accused have been arrested.”

“Common public is appealed to desist from spreading rumours/false information. They shouldn’t fall prey to false propaganda of anti-social elements. Legal action shall be taken against those who are found to be involved in provocative act/instigation,” the post reads further.
