Jammu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute around 51,000 appointment letters in this month’s Rozgar Mela virtually on November 30 including Leh district in the Union Territory of Ladakh while Jammu and Srinagar will not be part of job distribution function this time.

The Union Territory of Ladakh is getting an opportunity to get appointment letters through monthly Rozgar Mela after few months.

The Mela is likely to be held at around 45 locations, officials as per a Jammu-based daily said.

Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Development of North Eastern Region BL Verma will attend the Rozgar Mela in Leh in the Union Territory of Ladakh and handover job letters to the youth selected in various Central Government departments after the Prime Minister’s virtual address to the youth across the country.

“The Union Territory of Ladakh couldn’t become part of Rozgar Mela for last few months due to less number of youths selected in the Central Government Departments. However, this time due to selection of youth, it will be part of the Prime Minister’s monthly Rozgar Mela,” the officials said.

Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh will coordinate Rozgar Mela from New Delhi.

However, as per the sources, Jammu and Srinagar will not be part of this month’s Rozgar Mela due to less number of candidates selected in the Central jobs. Jammu and Kashmir will be part of the Rozgar Mela in December.

Officials said around 51,000 appointment letters will be distributed by the Prime Minister during Rozgar Mela on November 30.

Appointments have been made by a number of Central Government Departments, they said, adding after the Prime Minister’s virtual address, the Union Ministers will handover job letters to the youth physically.

Sources said the Rozgar Melas are expected to continue every month for some more time as large numbers of vacancies are being filled by the Central Government in various departments.

However, the distribution of appointment letters will stop after imposition of Model Code of Conduct for Lok Sabha elections which are scheduled to be held in April-May next year.Jammu and Kashmir has also been beneficiary of Rozgar Melas as a number of local youth got appointment letters in almost every Mela.

In addition, J&K hosted an exclusive Rozgar Mela which was also addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually to distribute the letters.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had recently stated that recruitment process in UT Government departments has been expedited and many vacancies will be filled. The recruitment procession in J&K is apace with written tests being held for many posts while some other exams are in pipeline. The Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfillment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation.

The Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development, the sources said.

The newly inducted appointees are also getting an opportunity to train themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh, an online module on iGOT Karmayogi portal, where more than 673 e-learning courses have been made available for ‘anywhere any device’ learning format, they added.
