Srinagar: In response to the recent incident of alleged sexual assault of a minor student at Government Secondary School Chatterhama in Srinagar outskirts, outraged parents have called for the strongest possible action against the accused and the institutions that employ them.
“Teachers involved in such heinous crimes against children must be given the harshest punishment, including capital punishment,” said a group of protesting parents. “There should be no mercy for those who betray the trust of students and their families.”
Parents also urged the government and education authorities to take immediate steps to de-register schools that hire staff with questionable backgrounds.
“Institutions that ignore safety protocols and continue to employ tainted individuals for their own gain must be held accountable,” they added.
They further appealed that any school where such incidents occur should be de-recognized to send a clear message that student safety is non-negotiable.
The demands come amid an ongoing investigation, with the accused teacher and peon already arrested. The case has sparked a wider debate on the need for strict child protection measures in educational institutions across the region. (CNS)
