Srinagar: Grand Mufti Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Nasir ul Islam Farooqi has urged people of Valley to observe a shutdown as to transcend a message of solidarity and sympathy with the families of victims of Pahalgam attack.
“The heinous attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, is highly deplorable and condemnable, and has deeply troubled every conscious soul within and outside Jammu and Kashmir,” said Islam while talking to Alfaaz – The Words.
“No words are enough to condemn the barbaric act, or for that matter express the magnitude of sadness and sorrow it has brought to all of us,” Islam said, adding, “whole of Kashmir stands in complete solidarity with the families of the victims of the dastardly attack.”
“Kashmir has never supported such acts, and never will it support at any point of time.”
Urging the people in Valley to stand up against the tragedy, Islam appealed to the people in Valley to observe a shutdown tomorrow (Wednesday) as to exhibit their character and transcend a message that we all unequivocally stand against such acts, which not only are against the very basics of humanity and our religion, but at the same time bring a disrepute to Valley known for its hospitality and brotherhood.
“Several other stakeholders including top scholars, and clergy have been taken into confidence and we have unanimously taken the decision to urge the people to observe the shutdown,” Islam added.
