Srinagar: The Justice and Development Front (JDF) on Friday announced its decision to withdraw from the Peopleโ€™s Alliance for Change (PAC), citing differences over the allianceโ€™s working style.

In a statement issued to the press, JDF General Secretary Sayar Ahmad Reshi said the party had decided to take an independent course after internal deliberations. โ€œWithin the alliance framework, JDF has always exercised its democratic right to express differing opinions. After due reflection, we believe that pursuing an independent course will better serve our vision, values, and principles,โ€ the statement read.

While parting ways, the JDF expressed gratitude to its former allies and supporters across Jammu and Kashmir for their trust. The party reaffirmed its commitment to democratic values, transparency, accountability, and public service, saying it would continue working for the people through independent political engagement.

Notably, the Justice and Development Front (JDF), a newly formed political party in Jammu and Kashmir, comprising former members of the banned socio-religious organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), was launched in early 2025, in a bid to engage in the democratic process and participate actively in local elections.
