Locals Urge District Administration Kupwara to Address Long-Pending Issue

Qalamabad: Residents of Mawer Qalamabad in north Kashmirโs Kupwara district have expressed strong resentment against the Power Development Department (PDD) and the concerned contractor for their alleged failure to make the 63 KV transformer installed at NTPHC Qalamabad operational, even after the passage of nearly one year.
Speaking to Alfaaz โ The Words, the locals said that the transformer was installed under DDC funds almost a year ago, but has yet to be energized. They alleged that the inordinate delay has severely affected the functioning of the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC), causing immense hardship to both patients and medical staff.
โThe transformer was installed long back, yet it remains non-functional to this day. The patients as well as the health centre staff continue to suffer due to the indifference of the concerned authorities. We urge the administration not to overlook our plight and to ensure early restoration of power supply to the facility,โ said the aggrieved residents.
They further added that the prolonged inaction reflects the negligence and apathy of the officials responsible for the project.
The villagers have appealed to MLA Langate and DDC Member Mawer, Khurshid Ahmad Dar, to personally intervene in the matter and take prompt measures to resolve the long-pending issue in the interest of the public.
