Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir has officially got it’s elected government after a wait of almost a decade as Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has administered oath of office to JKNC Vice President Omar Abdullah at a high-profile event at SKICC here on Wednesday.
In a twist, after it was rumoured that there would be no Deputy Chief Minister, the Omar Abdullah has gone an extra mile to depute Surinder Kumar Choudhary as his deputy. Chaudhary won from Nowshera while defeating BJP leader Ravinder Raina.
The Cabinet of Omar Abdullah will include; Satish Sharma, Sakina Itoo, Javid Dar, Sunrinder Chowdhury and Javid Rana.
With the swearing-in, Omar Abdullah has become the first Chief Minister of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
