NTA Cancels January 15 Exam, Revised Date To Be Announced Soon

New Delhi: The UGC NET exam scheduled for January 15, 2025, has been postponed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in light of the Pongal and Makar Sankranti festivals.

The NTA announced that a new date for the exam will be shared shortly. However, exams on January 16, 2025, will proceed as originally scheduled.

National Testing Agency (NTA) postpones the UGC-NET December 2024 Exam scheduled on 15th January 2025 after receiving representations to postpone the UGC NET December 2024 examination on account of Pongal, Makar Sankranti and other festivals on 15th January 2025.

In an official notice, the NTA stated that multiple representations had been received requesting the postponement of the January 15 exam due to the major cultural celebrations. The agency clarified that only the exam on January 15 would be postponed, and the revised date will be announced in due course.

Aspirants are advised to keep an eye on official notifications for updates regarding the rescheduled exam. Meanwhile, the examination on January 16 will take place as planned.
