Srinagar: In a formal announcement, Yasir Reshi, former Member of the Legislative Council from Sonawari, has declared his departure from Sajad Gani Lone led Peoples’ Conference.

Reshi, in a statement expressed “heartfelt gratitude for the opportunities I’ve had while being part of the party and appreciate the invaluable experience gained during my tenure.”

Describing his exit as a “difficult political decision,” Reshi while acknowledging the pivotal role of PC Chief Sajad Lone, said ” Sajad Sahab treated me like a younger brother during my political journey” and under whose leadership he gained “immense political experience.”

Reshi concluded his statement with thanks to “Sajad Lone Sahab for your support and wisdom,” and extended his best wishes for the party’s “continued success.”

The departure of Reshi comes at a time when a host of senior party leaders including Nizamuddin Bhat, Khursheed Alam, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir have already left the Sajad Gani led party in the recent past.

Notably, Alfaaz – The Words, had reported about the possible departure of Yasir Reshi from JKPC in February 2024 only. Now all what remains to be seen is whether Reshi joins PDP or some other party.
