Nocturnal Gunfight Breaks Out in North Kashmir

Kupwara: A nocturnal gunfight has broken out in Lolab area in north Kashmir Kupwara district.

Reports reaching here said that upon receiving of a specific input about presence of militants in forest area of Diver Anderbugh, a joint team of army’s 28 RR and JK Police laid a seige around the suspected site.

As the operation intensified, the militants hiding among the bushes, opened fire upon the security forces team, triggering an encounter.

The exchange of gunfire continued, when this report was being filed.
