Srinagar: Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Thursday ordered posting of Nalin Prabhat (IPS) as Special Director General (SDG) with immediate effect and in the wake of retirement of incumbent DGP Rashmi Ranjan Swain, will take over his post from October 1, 2024.
The fresh development has come a day after the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) sanctioned the inter-cadre deputation of Nalin Prabhat, Director-General of the National Security Guard (NSG), from the Andhra Pradesh to Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre for a tenure of three years.
“Consequent upon joining the AGMUT Cadre on inter-state cadre deputation from Andhra Pradesh Cadre, Sh Nalin Prabhat, IPS (AP:1992), is hereby posted to Jammu and Kashmir as Special Director General (SDG), Jammu & Kashmir Police with immediate effect and till 30.09.2024,” reads an MHA order, as per Alfaaz – The Words.
“Further, upon retirement of Sh. R.R Swain, IPS (AGMUT:1991) on 30.09.2024, Sh. Nalin Prabhat, IPS (AP:1992), is appointed as DGP, Jammu and Kashmir w.e.f 01.10.2024 and until further orders,” the order reads.
