MP Er Rashid’s Regular Bail Plea Decision Deferred

Srinagar: Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Monday deferred a regular bail plea moved by Member Parliament Er Rashid to November 19, 2024.

Er Rashid, who reported back to Tihar Jail on Monday, was let out on interim bail last month. The interim bail was extended on at least three occasions and after expiry of the date, the sitting MP reported back to Tihar jail.

The Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Monday deferred it’s decision on Er Rashid’s regular bail plea to November 19, 2024.

Engineer Rashid, who was lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail since 2019 under UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) in connection with alleged militant funding case, won the Lok Sabha election from Baramulla seat in recently held parliamentary polls. He defeated two political heavyweights – now J&K Chief Minister, NC Vice President Omar Abdullah, and former minister and Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Lone.
