Jammu: In view of growing wild animal attacks in various areas of Handwara and its adjacent areas, MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed on Tuesday called on Chief Wildlife Warden J&K Sarvesh Rai (IFS) here to discuss the precarious situation.

While highlighting the recent wild animal attacks in different areas, especially Langate, which claimed the life of a toddler besides leaving several others injured, MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed urged the Chief Wildlife Warden to use men & machinery at disposal to curb the Wildlife attacks to save precious lives, reads a statement issued to Alfaaz – The Words.

The first time legislator said that the Chief Wildlife Warden J&K, Sarvesh Rai assured him that the department will establish a Control Room in the area to deal with the situation. He also assured that in near future a rescue center will be established in the area, Sheikh Khursheed said.

Khursheed also discussed the shoratge of men power of the department in the area, lack of modern equipment and mobile vans, to which the Chief Warden promised to address on priority basis.

Taking the moment to highlight the issues of daily-wagers, the CW Warden again assured the visiting legislator of due consideration.

Sheikh Khursheed thanked the Chief Warden Wildlife Department J&K for patient hearing and in the meantime urged people to stay cautious while venturing out in nearby fields and follow time-to-time advisories by Wildlife Department authorities.
