Srinagar: A comprehensive medical outreach camp was organised on Saturday at CRPF F/161 Battalion Headquarters in Bhagwanpora in collaboration with Amandeep BR Medicity Hospital in Srinagar.
The initiative was aimed at providing accessible healthcare services to residents from the downtown Srinagar area. A team comprising three specialist doctors and paramedical staff from Amandeep BR Medicity Hospital, together with the Medical Officer of 161 Battalion, conducted health examinations and consultations for patients throughout the day.
Officials said the medical camp witnessed an encouraging turnout from the local community. As many as 150 individuals availed on-spot medical consultations, while free medicines worth approximately โน50,000 were distributed among the beneficiaries.
The organisers noted that such community health programmes help bridge gaps in healthcare accessibility and improve awareness about preventive and primary health services.
In addition to the public outreach initiative, the unit has scheduled a specialised training session on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for its personnel following the conclusion of the medical camp. The training module aims to enhance emergency response preparedness among the ranks.
Officials added that the 161 Battalion, in coordination with civilian healthcare institutions, intends to continue extending similar welfare-oriented programmes for the benefit of the local populace.
