‘Manoj Sinha Likely To Give Up On J&K LG Post For Politics; VK Singh, Amitabh Kant Among Front-runners To Succeed’

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha is likely to resign from the post and is likely to contest Lok Sabha polls on BJP ticket from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur constituency, said a report on Monday.

Srinagar-based news agency KNS quoted sources as saying that Manoj Sinha is likely to step down as Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to contest Lok Sabha polls.

They said that former Army General and senior BJP leader VK Singh and former CEO of NITI Aayog and India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant are among the frontrunners to succeed Sinha.

Sources said that serious deliberations have been going on within the top brass of the BJP to field Sinha from Ghazipur constituency.
