Lolab Police Step Up Action on Untransferred Vehicles; Extensive Checking Drives Held Across Sub-Division

Kupwara: Lolab Police have intensified enforcement measures across the sub-division to ensure strict compliance with mandatory transfer-of-ownership norms for vehicles, following directions issued by DySP PC Lolab and supported by SHO Sogam and SHO Lalpora.

Joint checking teams were deployed at several key points, where vehicles were thoroughly inspected for valid documentation, updated ownership records and adherence to traffic regulations.

Officials said several vehicles operating without proper ownership transfer, lacking mandatory papers or involved in rash or negligent driving were seized on the spot. Legal action under the Motor Vehicles Act has been initiated against the offenders.

Lolab Police have urged vehicle owners to promptly complete transfer-of-ownership procedures after sale or purchase, keep all relevant documents updated and follow established traffic safety norms.

Authorities said the ongoing enforcement drives will continue in the coming days to strengthen road safety and ensure full regulatory compliance across the sub-division.
