Lolab (Kupwara): Jammu and Kashmir Police in Lolab organized an awareness rally aimed at combatting drug abuse in the community.
The rally was led by Additional SP Kupwara Shri Gh Mohd Bhat in presence of DYSP Lolab Dr Raies Ahmad, Principal GDC Sogam, SHO Sogam Imtiaz Malik among other officials. The rally was participated by Civil Society members, education department including students from local schools and seminary, besides by political figures and media persons.
The several hour long rally commenced from GDC Sogam upto Sogam town. The march passed through the main road, raising slogans and displaying banners and placards to promote drug-free living.
The event underscored the collective commitment of the community to fight against the menace of drug abuse in the community.
The participants pledged to put up a collective fight against the growing drug abuse to ensure a drug-free society for the larger interest of the public especially for the youth.
Speaking on the occasion, ASP Gh. Mohd Bhat emphasized the grave impact of drug abuse on youth and society and urged all and everyone to come together to combat this menace and protect the future generations.
He requested the parents, teachers and community members to remain vigilant and supportive, guiding the youth towards a healthy and positive lifestyle.
He further appealed to the public to remain proactive and report any incidents related to drug trafficking or abuse to the police.
