Lolab Police Intensify Enforcement Against Outside-Registered Vehicles

Lolab: In an effort to ensure strict compliance with motor vehicle regulations, the Lolab Police are conducting a comprehensive enforcement drive targeting outside-registered vehicles operating without valid and mandatory documents across the Lolab Valley.

As part of the initiative, naka parties were established at key strategic locations to conduct thorough vehicle checks, verify documentation, and deter violations. The special drive was carried out under the close supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Lolab.

A police official said that, in accordance with existing rules, vehicles registered outside the Union Territory are required to complete transfer and registration formalities within 15 days of entering the area. Beyond the stipulated period, such vehicles will not be permitted to operate without proper local registration and valid documentation.

The official added that the enforcement exercise is aimed at curbing illegal vehicle operations, strengthening road safety, and ensuring adherence to traffic laws. Vehicle owners were advised to regularize their documents within the prescribed timeframe to avoid legal action.

The official reiterating commitment to maintaining law and order as well as traffic discipline, further said that the Lolab Police will continue with similar enforcement in the coming days across the subdivision.
