Lolab (Kupwara): Jammu & Kashmir Police on Tuesday organised a daylong medical camp at Dardpora Lolab under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025-26, drawing an enthusiastic response from residents of the remote Gujjar-dominated region.
The camp, held under the directions and close supervision of SSP Kupwara Tahir Al-Gilani, reaffirmed the departmentโs commitment to strengthening police-public relations and improving access to essential services in underserved areas.
Residents from Dardpora and adjoining hamlets turned up in large numbers to avail the free healthcare services provided at their doorstep.
Organised by District Police Kupwara, the camp featured a team of male and female doctors supported by trained paramedical staff. The team conducted general medical examinations, consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, and distributed essential medicines free of cost.
Special focus was laid on womenโs health, geriatric care, and paediatric check-ups to ensure inclusive medical coverage for all age groups.
Participants also received health awareness counselling, including guidance on nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care, which officials said added to the overall effectiveness of the programme.
The event was supervised on the ground by DySP DR Kupwara Gulzar Ahmad, SHO Lalpora Showkat Ahmad Darzi, Inspector Abdul Rahman, and other officials of District Police Kupwara.
District Police Kupwara officials said that similar initiatives will continue to be organised in the coming months as part of the departmentโs sustained efforts to address community needs and enhance public welfare.
The medical camp concluded on a positive note, providing timely and much-needed healthcare support to the Gujjar population of Dardpora Lolab.
