Kupwara Police Conducts Drive to Check SIM Vendors in Lolab Jurisdiction

Kupwara: To curb the misuse of SIM cards and ensure strict compliance with telecom norms, Kupwara Police conducted a special inspection drive across Lolab region on Saturday.

On the directions of SSP Kupwara, police teams under the supervision DySP Lolab, checked several SIM card vendors operating in different areas of Lolab, to verify adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures and other mandatory documentation requirements.

Vendors were counseled about the legal consequences of issuing SIM cards without proper verification and were directed to maintain complete and accurate records of all transactions.

Police authorities said such inspections will be carried out regularly to prevent fraudulent SIM activations and strengthen the security framework across the district.
