Kupwara Admin Holds Mega Entrepreneurship Mela Under Mission YUVA

Kupwara: A mega entrepreneurship mela under Mission YUVA was on Saturday organised at Town Hall Handwara, aimed to sensitise and engage young and potential entrepreneurs of Kupwara district.

The event focusing on mobilising youth and promoting entrepreneurial mindset, facilitated direct interaction with key stake holders and real time on-boarding onto Mission YUVA platforms, was inaugurated by District Development Commisioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan in presence of Vice Chairman DIstrict Development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Mir and DDC members.

The mega event featured screening of promotional vides, practical training, including a live demo of the Mission YUVA app, which simplifies the process of registering and tracking entrepreneurial ventures, Resource Persons explained the programme, eligibility, and its benefits and successful entrepreneurs shared their journeys,struggles, and growth to the participants.

The event engaged hundreds of people, most of them potential entrepreneurs including men and women.

While addressing the gathering, District Development Commissioner Kupwara Ayushi Sudan said that the aim of organising mela was to ignite entrepreneurial spirit, provide information on government support, and inspire self-reliance among youth through interactive sessions and success stories. “Mission YUVA initiative focuses on various aspects of youth empowerment, including entrepreneurship, skill development, and career support.”

She said that on the basis of YUVA survey government has devised this Nano-enterprise scheme under umbrella of Mission YUVA. While urging the potential entrepreneurs, DC said that youth can establish any unit depending upon their skill.

She said that process has been eased out and YUVA doot in every Panchayat has been deployed, adding that it is a big opportunity for youth of Kupwara district especially for women potential enterprises.

“Women should take benefit of YUVA Mission as women have several incentives including 30 percent subsidy compared to men’s 25 percent subsidy under mission.”

Ayushi Sudan said as part of Mission YUVA in Kupwara district we have conducted a major survey in which around 1,40000 households have been covered and our teams have interacted with 7,50000 people.

The Deputy Commissioner encouraged young people to consider entrepreneurship, emphasizing the importance of becoming employers rather than employees, foster economic independence and job creation within the community.

She urged women of Kupwara district to actively avail themselves of various existing government schemes aimed at their empowerment, entrepreneurship encouraging them to become self-reliant and lead a dignified life.

DC said that Successful entrepreneurs of Kupwara district serve as our role models, inspiring others to dream big, take risks, and create meaningful change.

Earlier the district officer inspected the stalls of different departments and distributed the certificates among the entrepreneurs.
Mega Event was attended by DDC member Nutnusa, Adv Zahoor, DDC member Rajwar, Muhammad Salman Mir, DDC member Mawar, Khurshid Ahmed, ADDC Kupwara, Mufti Fareed Ud-Din, ADC Handwara, Javid Ahmed Masoodi, GM DIC Sameer Jan, and other officers.

She also visited ADC Complex Handwara and inspected ongoing developmental work.
