Srinagar: University of Kashmir has announced the resumption of regular classwork across all its campuses starting Wednesday, May 14, 2025. The announcement was formally issued through the Public Relations Centre of the University.

All students residing within Kashmir are expected to report to their respective departments from May 14 onward.

However, showing a student-friendly and region-sensitive approach, the university has provided relaxation for students from border areas of Jammu & Kashmir and those living outside the Union Territory. These students have been allowed to join classwork from Monday, May 19, 2025, keeping in view the potential challenges of travel and accessibility.

The varsity officials held internal meetings to ensure that academic continuity is balanced with logistical flexibility, especially for students in far-flung regions. This decision is being seen as a positive step towards inclusive academic governance
