Kishtwar: A top commander is believed to be among three militants killed in an ongoing gunfight in the forest area of Chatroo in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district.
News agency KDC reported to have confirmed from a senior police officer that the encounter began on April 9, when security forces launched a joint anti-militancy operation based on specific intelligence inputs about militant presence in the remote forest belt.
“Three terrorists have been killed. The operation is still in progress,” the officer said, adding that the identity of the slain terrorists is being ascertained.
