Pahalgam: Shri Shiv Shakti Sewadar, a socio-religious organization based in Karol Bagh, New Delhi, commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas at Pissu Top, Pahalgam, with solemn tributes and spirited celebrations, honoring the valor and sacrifice of India’s armed forces.

Security personnel, pilgrims, and members of the local community came together at the picturesque spot on the Amarnath Yatra route to pay homage to the heroes of the 1999 Kargil conflict. The event resonated with patriotic songs, emotional reflections, and expressions of national pride.

As part of the observance, a langar (community kitchen) was set up at Pissu Top, serving hundreds of pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2025. The initiative aimed to both honor the soldiers and support devotees with food and refreshment services during the demanding pilgrimage.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of Shri Shiv Shakti Sewadar said, โ€œWe are observing Kargil Vijay Diwas at Pissu Top to salute the bravehearts who brought us victory in Kargil, a district of Ladakh. Our langar service here is a humble gesture to serve the devotees and volunteers participating in the Yatra.โ€

The Langar Incharge lauded the hospitality and harmony in the region, saying, โ€œKashmir is the crown jewel of the country. The locals here are truly supportive. Today, as we mark this day of courage and sacrifice, we feel a deep connection with every soldier who stood tall in the face of adversity.โ€

The observance was further marked by the participation of BJP senior leader Lateef Ahmad Khan, who praised the Indian Armyโ€™s unflinching dedication, โ€œOur soldiers continue to make us proud. This day reminds us of their sacrifice and victory, which we celebrate every July 26 with unwavering gratitude and joy.โ€
